People have been given the chance to learn the art of directing thanks to a new scheme at a Kettering theatre group. The scheme aims to give people the opportunity to get hands-on experience of stage production. And members of C&D Productions are getting ready for opening night as they put the finishing touches to their first show. The FutureProof project launched this summer in a bid to get people who love theatre involved with all elements of production, both on and off the stage. So far, it has proved to be a success with teenagers in the area.
From Thursday to Saturday this week (July 9 to 11) their first finished productions of Bedtime Tales – a series of three adaptations of classic children’s stories Alice in Wonderland, Red Riding Hood and Hansel & Gretel – will be coming to the stage at William Toller Hall. Seventeen-year-old Abbey Scrimshaw is co-director of the Alice in Wonderland production.
